Odyssart 2026 Guidelines

OFQJ - the France-Québec Youth Office - renews its Odyssart call for projects with the support of the DRG Foundation, a cultural exchange program between France and Canada/Québec for young artists and arts and culture professionals aged 18 to 35.

This call for projects is aimed at artists affiliated with an organisation wishing to carry out a professional project including mobility between France and Canada/Québec.

Eligible projects can concern any cultural sector: architecture, visual arts, plastic arts, digital arts, audiovisual, circus, dance, design, crafts, literature, publishing, music, theater, etc.

Projects can take the following forms :

  • cultural cooperation (collaboration, co-creation)
  • implementation of an artistic project in the other territory (residency program, filming, recording, etc.)

Simple projects of diffusion, study trips and insertion projects are not eligible..

OFQJ does not assist with finding partner organisations or directly building the projects.

Project submission

By submitting and/or responding to the call for projects, the project leader and associated candidates accept OFQJ - France-Québec Youth Office's general terms and the present rules.

Project eligibility criteria

  • A French-speaking dimension is mandatory
  • A partner must be involved in the mobility territory
  • The project can be individual or collective, but must be led by an organisation headquartered in France or Canada/Québec
  • The project must promote the emergence of young creation
  • Participants in the mobility must be aged between 18 and 35 as of December 31, 2025 (participants over 35 on January 1st, 2026, or reaching the age of 36 in 2026, are accepted provided that their number does not exceed 20% of the total number of participants)
  • Only one request for financial support per project leader and/or organisation is eligible
  • Mobility(ies) between France and Canada/Québec must be planned for 2026
  • A strategy for diffusion of the project must be presented
  • Requested funding must not exceed 70% of the total project budget
  • The project must fall into one of the following categories: cultural cooperation or implementation of a project in the other territory.

Eligibility criteria for mobility beneficiaries for projects from France to Canada/Québec :

  • Be between the ages of 18 and 35 on December 31, 2025
  • Be of French nationality or resident in France for more than a year

Eligibility criteria for mobility beneficiaries for projects from Canada/Québec to France :

  • Be between the ages of 18 and 35 on December 31, 2025
  • Be of Canadian nationality or have the permanent resident status

Project assessment

Project assessment conditions

After checking the admissibility of applications, the documents will be examined by OFQJ - France-Québec Youth Office. In particular, the following elements will be examined:

  • The quality of the initiative
  • The relevance of the objectives
  • The innovative nature of the project (social, environmental)
  • The impact of the project on career path
  • The emergence of consolidation of a new, long-term Franco-Canadian/Québécois partnership
  • If applicable, the relevance of the diffusion strategy to reach the target audience(s)

All else being equal, projects involving a larger number of participants in the mobility will be given priority.

Required documents

  • Online form (presentation of the project, details of beneficiaries, planning and implementation)
  • Estimated budget
  • Letter of commitment from one or more partners
  • Bank details
  • Any document presenting the project and/or the host organisation

Project funding

Amount of support

The amount granted per project ranges from a minimum of €20,000 to a maximum of €30,000.
The amount of support granted by OFQJ - France-Québec Youth Office will not represent more than 70% of the total budget.
OFQJ - France-Québec Youth Office reserves the right to award all or part of the grant requested for selected projects.

Eligible expenses

Expenses must be directly related to the project :

  • International transport between France and Canada/Québec in economy class
  • General insurance
  • Visa fees and administrative expenses related to the mobility
  • Transportation costs within France and Canada
    • Travel to project-related meetings (subway, train, bus)
    • Car or minibus rental if needed
  • Accommodation with invoice (hotel, apartment rental - no valuation of accommodation will be accepted)
  • Project communication costs with invoice if carried out by an external service provider (excluding internal valuation)
  • Artistic project production costs
  • Expenses related to the organisation of events (excluding personal expenses) to support the creation of the project
  • Excess baggage fees
  • Fees, salaries and other personnel expenses accepted up to 50% of the grant amount requested
  • Indirect expenses up to a maximum of 5% of direct project expenses
  • Voluntary contributions up to a maximum of 5% of total budget

Any expenses not included in this list must be agreed in advance with France-Québec Youth Office. Only actual expenses will be considered when examining the final reports. In order to verify the accuracy of expenses incurred, copies of invoices may be requested.

Non-eligible expenses

  • Operating and investment expenses (excluding the supported project)
  • Travel expenses for trips outside France and Canada/Québec

Indicative terms of payment

  • Down payment of 70% on signature of agreement
  • Balance of 30% paid on presentation of activity and financial report, not later than February 15, 2027

Project report on return

Pieces to be supplied for the report and payment of the balance of the support :

  • A report detailing the benefits of the activity for the beneficiaries and for Franco-Canadian / Franco-Québécois cooperation
  • Detailed project program
  • Documents and tools for communicating and promoting the project
  • List of participants
  • Financial statement including all project-related expenses, listed in full

OFQJ - France-Québec Youth Office reserves the right to reduce the balance of the grant, or to demand the refund of all or part of the deposit, depending on the number of participants in relation to the number planned, and to request copies of supporting documents.

  • From September 22, 2025, to November 4, 2025 : Project submission period
  • Janvier 2026 : annonce des lauréats
  • Juin 2026 : rencontre Odyssart (les lauréats de l’appel à projets devront s’engager à se rendre disponibles pour y participer)

Fill out the online project application form and attach the projected budget, along with all required documents

Once their project has been selected, applicants must submit their project on the OFQJ - France-Québec Youth Office intranet.
